Dear the I’m-so-great-with-God people,

You have a fire burning for God, you show passion for Him in your prayers and speech, and you seem as if you are as close to Him as you can be. While I’m happy for you and all, I can’t help but ask, why are you so quick to judge others?

I find it ironic that you, people who claim to be “true Christians”, are more judgmental than average people, and I don’t understand why that is. Do you put yourself on a pedestal just because you’re more “spiritual” than others? Or do you think that being so somehow gives you the judge others? Does this give you some sense of superiority or self-worth? I would think that of all people, Christians should be the least judgmental, because after all, how many times in the bible as God as us not to do so?

Yet here you are, church leaders, bible study leaders, who think you can get a free pass for doing it. You think that because you are in the leadership position, because you’re more “spiritual”, that somehow you become a know-it-all like God. And you wonder why some people are have a bad connotation about the church and Christians. Who wants to be around a bunch of self-righteous a-holes who do criticize more than they praise?

While I know that no one is perfect and no church is perfect, perhaps you can start making it a little better by NOT judging others so soon.

No love,

Jenny
